New Member intro
Hello All,
I am new forum member and relatively new Porsche owner. I bought my first Porsche last May, a birthday present to myself. I had owned two BMW's before th Porsche and loved the feel of a German vehicle. Sadly, I traded my BMW in to purchase a larger SUV for my wife and I downgraded to a Subaru Legacy. It is a fine car, just not very fun to drive. After about 8 months I couldn't take it and decided I needed a sports car. I was considering an M3, but the dealer I went to look at also had a 996 C2 for sale. One test drive and I was hooked. Bought the car that day without so much as a second thought. Had it home for a week or so and the check engine started coming on. Luckily I escaped only having to replace the spark plugs. A month later the clutch went out. Most would have been devastated, but I saw it as an opportunity to upgrade to a stage 3 clutch and light weight flywheel. A few months after that I went a little crazy ordering parts and decided to do a muffler bypass, Koni adjustable shocks with H&R lowering springs, eibach front and rear sway bars, and a 997 SSK. Most people would be horrified by the experience I had buying my 911, I left out a lot of the painful details, but for me the experience of owning and driving a sports car with 911's pedigree makes it all worth it. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and tell you all a little about myself and my 996, the car I dreamed of owning when I was a child. So hello and thank you for the valuable information I found in this forum before becoming a member.
