Default Anyone document their tranzit blu install?

It's on my short list of to-do 's with the c4s and would love to know where to pull power from, etc.

I did a search but not much came up

Thanks!

I have installed a few of them in 997 and Boxsters. What questions do you have?

I am curious about the following:

Where to pull switched power from

Where the mic wire was routed assuming the mic wound up somewhere near the sunvisor

Thanks!

Switched power is on the 4 wire phone prep connector floating around behind your center stack cubbies. Pull the top one, they snapin, and use the green/black wire for switched power.

Brown = ground
yellow/black = radio mute
green/black = switched 12v
red/green = un-switched 12v

Ditto on the switched power. Use the phone prep harness - strip back some shielding and you don't have to alter your car's factory wiring at all.

The mic is easy to mount by wedging it between the A pillar cover and the headliner. Route the wire under the A pillar cover then under the dash. Super simple.

I am kinda stuck with this right now. Pulled the factory radio as well as the CD storage and cubby box, however I don't know where and how to fish the wire... It seems the bottom stack can't be fished directly up to where the factory radio is.
For the guys that installed this, where do you put the module itself and how did you route your antenna connection? TIA!

Bumping this up, since I have a Tranzit Blue in route for my new to me 2004 C4S. Has anyone documented this install with photos? Thanks!

When I installed mine, it came with a harness that linked into the radio harness and fed power from there.

I'm installing mine today. here are my install steps.

1. Drop off car to shop
2. wait patiently for it to be completed (should be done in another hr)
3. inspect the quality of the work
4. Pay da man
5. leave parking lot

Same here for my CDR220. It plugged into the existing wiring harness on the radio and didn't use the Antenna connection. Here is the one I bought. The link has a list of compatible radios.

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/BLU-BKR235.html

I ran the mic wire up the driver side A-pillar. Remove the driver side sun visor and just pop the cover loose using a plastic pry bar. I have the mic clipped to the A-piller on the windshield side. It works well. I've even been able make calls with my convertible top down doing 30 mph or so.

I put the unit itself behind the center console - between the two removable side pieces.

Update. At some point I started noticing an alternator whine when streaming music. I bought a plug&play ground loop isolator for $9 that completely eliminated the noise. I still love this solution. It keeps the original look but adds audio streaming and hands-free phone. It's completely invisible except for one dime-size button and the micophone.

Thanks all. Interesting to hear there is now a straight plug-in. My car has the CDR23 and was not equipped with the CD changer. I was thinking I would have to splice and use an antenna adapter like this 997.1 thread -- https://rennlist.com/forums/997-turb...pcm-2-1-a.html

I ordered this Tranzit Blue version on Amazon -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And this antenna adapter -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Check with discount car stereo. For CDR23 you would use a different unit that uses the antenna connection. On the plus side, that enables display of song information on the radio screen.
