Interesting car docmirror.
I too like my cars in primary colors and speed yellow has always appealed.

Sometimes I wonder about the people who create ads on the internet.
The one you referenced says it has an "automatic transmission....with a brand new clutch".

Docmirror - Me likely.
Contrasting stitching, sport seats, leather dash and speed yellow. Very nice.

Yeah, it's gonna be interesting. I'm afraid it's had body work on the front. The option sticker is supposed to be on the inside of the hood and I don't see it. I've heard that some of the option stickers were put under the frunk carpet on the left fender? We'll see on Sat what happens.

He's not answering emails. At least not the two I sent from different accounts. I was interested in the car if the color was indeed something in the metallic 'brown' family. It's very hard to tell in the pics. So, I forgot about it.

He keeps posting it and not responding to emails.

I'm going to guess it's that he's using a ubiquitous(gmail/hotmail) email client, and his CL replies are going into his spam folder by default. Bet he's wondering why no one responds to the ad. Boohoo. No phone #, no sell.

Just a reminder...

If you take a minute to copy/paste some of the ad info & link to the craigslist picture into this thread, it becomes more of an price reference and archive then a collection of dead links.
  1. Paste link to original ad
  2. Paste headline and main text with price (I suggest not including contact info..._
  3. Right click on ad photo, copy image url, paste the image inside a set of image tags
[.img]photo_url_goes_here.jpg[./img] <<-- like this, but eliminate the dots.

Porsche 911 Carrera 996 Super Clean - $17000 (Chicago)
Selling my 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 996 with 76000 miles. Always covered and garage kept. Maintenance recorded. The most recent service was replacement of Intermediate Shaft Bearing (IMS) which 996 are known to have problem for. Porsche IMS Solution Intermediate Shaft Bearing Upgrade - Eternal Fix from Vertexauto part. My Porsche didn't need the replacement but I wanted the best engine durability. New rims and tires installed this summer. Plus Bluetooth and voice command stereo.

That finally happened to me last week. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why no one was interested in a car that usually creats a sea of emails as soon as it's posted. 2 weeks later it dawned on me to check the spam folder (35 replies).

DOH!

Since you're over on the 928 boards, I can make fun of you, it's like a brotherhood.

That must be your pic in the avatar then?

muuuaahahhahahhahahhahaaaaa!!! J/k, it's happened to my wife before too. I tell her to check the spam folder and it starts a big discussion about 'why does stuff go in the spam folder?'. Which leads to; 'why is my inbox filled with spam messages?'.

I'm guessing it's going straight to spam. I emailed the guy to give him a heads up that I included his link in a forum post. He promptly returned my email thanking me. Perhaps it has something to do with him being in the military.
