I'd definitely want confirmation by F6I on what they did to the car before I put money down. You put down $15k for work by Jake's shop and then turn around and see it for that about 1.5k miles later? Smells a bit fishy to me.
Would love to hear what Jake has to say about both the car (if he really knows anything about it) and F6I being used as a selling point in this case.

I agree, the rebuilt F6I engine is worth more. If I have a mk1 and blew the engine I would buy this in a heartbeat. After validation....

That's just it for me. They do their best to imply that it is a rebuild without actually saying it. Not that it is meaningless, but a "Raby serviced" motor is a lot different than a "Raby built" motor. I think they are counting on you believing the later for a quick sale while it's really the former.
