@Seeeu911, I have the Air-con module placed where you have your mini, but guess it would work out okish...

Have you secured it somehow or just placed it loosely (if it makes sense)?

I much prefer the Ram Mount X holder. Why? Because it can hold your item WITH a case. Doesn't matter what kind of case your item has...plastic, leather, etc. The Ram Mount will hold it.

I have used these in cars and motorcycles with no worries.

I have my mini mounted just like Seeeu911, I've place a piece of cardboard to act as a wedge to keep it secured. I also have the adapter chord from the back of the radio ( using the disc changer input) coming up in that that hooks up to my iPod.

Do you by any chance have a photo of this to give me an idea? Sounds very interesting and if I could add something similar to my 16Bit PCM 1.0 it would be great...

Might as well just use google maps. It has turn by turn audio and also has offline if you want to store a map region for offline. Btw, Google bought Waze so might as well go with the parent.

Waze hands down. Best real time traffic conditions live updates from other drivers is it's killer feature.

I tried Google Maps on my iphone yesterday.
Seems to give great turn by turn instructions.

Now I don't need GPS navigation for my 997 Just going to use my iphone

I'll have to research how to do that

I just read:

Features that require a network connection, like directions and Navigation aren't available offline.

Interesting.

Yup, for $1.3 billion. Yes, that's billion. For a company with $0 revenue. Obviously they saw something they liked, as did Facebook, who Google had to outbid.

But while google maps has started to incorporate some of the real time data gleaned from Waze users, they are not the same app. All I can say is try them back-to-back. Waze absolutely rocks for an in-car mounted GPS system..

Agreed. While some might find Google maps to be perfectly capable, others might find Waze more user friendly in the automotive environment. However Google Auto coming up should resolve that. But for those that don't want to wait, Waze might be a good solution in the mean time.

I have used Ram mounts with a few motorcycles for GPS mounts, and they are great. Well-built, and versatile. A quality product, and priced to match. But I think you get what you paid for.

When your GPS mount breaks on a bike, it's a near certainty that you lose both the mount and the GPS in the process. Robust mounts are a necessity.

Buy a Android tablet and wait for the new Android "L" OS to come out later this year.
