996 custom aero completed!!!! (Pic Heavy)
I enlisted the help of a friend of mine so I could outfit my girl with a few things that I always wanted. Lucky for me, he is a true artist and had no problem translating my vision into reality. His name is Dan Dermot and he was the lead metal fabrication instructor @ Wyotech in Sacramento before they closed the school down. If you want more info, visit his web page @ http://www.creativefabricationbydan.com/
To start, I was never a big fan of the MKI GT3 rocker panels that came with the factory option kit - the twisted look just didn't do it for me. I wanted to accentuate the natural lines of the car, not create new ones. Dan ended up fabricating unbelievable rocker panels out of aluminum, and then tied them into the other aero components to satisfy my OCD request. The front splitter and rear diffuser were done with function in mind...and who doesn't like airplane rivets ;-) Disregard the crude exhaust tips...he did what he could with what he had. My plan is to have custom tips fabbed that protrude appx. 1 inch out of the openings and are angle cut to match the rake of the diffuser. I'm not sure what I'm doing about the existing openings in the rear bumper...still brainstorming on that one. Overall, I'm thrilled with the transformation and looking forward to working more with him in the future when I tackle the fender flares and rear wing.
Onto the pics...

Pete, I ran what you have on yours (sig pic) and I loved the look at first. Not trying to knock the MK1 kit at all...I just became fixated on the twisted "fast and furious" look of the rockers...kept seeing the same thing on every rice rocket in town. The insanity I developed even caused me to avoid taking pictures of my car at certain angles...crazy, I know. When I had the opportunity to do it "my way," I went a different direction. To some, the aero components may seem a little radical...I get that. The form/function of a race car look isn't for everyone. When I look at 911's, that's what I see...race cars. When I fab the flares and wing, I'm sure I'll get flamed for my drastic departure from the norm...it's inevitable.
"You can make some people happy all of the time and all people happy some of the time, but you'll never make all people happy all of the time." I'm okay with that.

It seems ok to me and def A for creativity and customization. But more importantly, it seems to be functional. Does it feel any different around the track at high speeds?
Can you PM me or tell me more about the rear diffuser. I was thinking of something like that but I see you already did it.
