Atlanta Snowstorm - Porsche pics?
SO, it did finally come today and wrecked havoc on the roads. I've got at least two buddies still trying to make it home.
any cool (or sad) 996 pics out there?
this is right before i left the office around 1:30pm today:
Later on the road (a total blast until the other cars showed up... )

I'm sorry but people don't have the slightest idea of how to drive in this weather. they just step on the gas and see what happens...
it is nuts out there. i feel for all the ppl that spent the night in their cars!

LOL. This is just too funny. M96 motors can't idle as they will die, they can't be used on the track as they will die, they can't be driven at low RPM as they will die, can't be driven at high RPM as they will die, they can't left sitting as they will die.
SMH.

Idling is not something that most engines are designed around, unless you are talking emergency vehicles and tractor trailers.
Track activities are the best thing for the IMSB, unless the car has an M97 bearing.
Anyway, we'll see if my prediction is correct in the coming weeks. No reason to get off topic! Just glad we are in the mountains and not in Atlanta!

I don't have any Porsche pic's from our snow "event". If I did, it would be of mine sitting in the garage. My 996 is a daily driver but I don't trust the other crazies out there!
I'm afraid we are the laughing stock of the rest of the country. My colleagues in Chicago can't believe that two inches of snow did this to us.

Burning Brakes
My friend slept at work last night. He did not even bother attempting going home. His co-worker spent 12 hours in his car and covered only 9 miles. Another left the car on the side of highway and walked 5 miles to his house.

Similar stories here. One guy in our office left at 2:30pm, and ended home 1:30am....and he had to walk the last 5 miles after giving up and leaving his car on the road. Oh, and did I mention he only lives 10 miles away from the office?
I'm originally from the north, but now since I live in Atlanta I don't want to comment too much, but I agree southerners cannot handle the slightest snow. Everytime there's some snow many act like it will be the end of the world. But southerners laugh that northern folks can't handle hurricanes...oh well...
