Question Driver side rattling sound

I have a year 2000 Cab with 43,000 miles. The car has a strange rattle coming from the driver side door. I've taken the panel apart and could not find the source. Stranger still, the rattle (which sounds like a ball-bearing rolling around) disappears when the top is down.
Has anyone encountered something like this?

To pinpoint if the sound is actually coming from the door, open the door and drive for a while and listen as you drive. Also try it with the window down. At what speeds do you hear the rattle? Are you sure the rattle is coming from the door? It could be coming from the cab top where it enters the windscreen on the drivers side, as you say the sound goes with the top down? In those slots there are Alan type screws under a small cover. Check they are tight. Also open the door with the engine off and shake it to almost closed and open quickly a few times. If there is something in the door you should hear it.

Default Rattle

This sound is more of a rolling sound like a ball bearing or a marble. It's noticeable when accelerating or braking (like it's shifting forward and backwards)
