996 headlight cover
Does anyone know where these might be available? There's a video on YouTube featuring a red 996 Targa that has them and they look interesting. They give the front of the car a rounder 997 headlight appearance.

Its quite funny as mods progress, the description of the car progresses in unison.. "That's a Nice looking Car" to "That's a great Sounding car" to "Hey dude that's a bad *** car you got there" to " ****in hey dude, yo de man" to "That's one crazy mo ****in car dude" hahaha

I have them on my car and they make the car look like a 911. 996 purists hate them but there's a reason they were abandoned. Have you ever noticed there isn't a mod to make the other 45 years of 911 headlights look like a 996? The market speaks.

I just went to the place that tinted my windows....it is Las Vegas. They just put dark tint on all but the turn signal. Medium tint over turn signals but it blends.
After 6 or 7 other 911s since 1972, I just prefer the traditional headlight look.

It's just my opinion but this is one mod I have never liked. Either the headlight covers or the tint it looks like people are trying too hard to change the look of the headlights. Embrace the 996 headlights and enjoy the car.

Great. Another headlight thread. You know, given how often this topic comes up, it tells you that there are some people that dislike the look of the headlights but love driving the car.
Given that it's their car, does it TRULY matter if they choose to modify the headlight look or not? Is the 996 such a purist rare product that we have to judge how it should or shouldn't be modded?
If you want to modify it, GO AHEAD and enjoy.
If you don't like / want to modify it - I don't think it's up to any of us to try to discourage someone else from doing what they want.

I noticed your avatar has the headlight cropped....

I would suggest taking a piece of cardboard or construction paper and testing it out yourself before you spend the money on the covers. If you're ok with the look, then sure, buy the covers.. I'll wait for your opinion

The panel gaps around the headlight make this mod look bad IMO.
If you don't like the 996 headlights, either 1. buy a 997 or 2. convert the front clip to a 997.
