With the price of early 996's being ad low as they are I would have expected the age of 996 owners to be younger than what they are. 46% of the people who voted here are over 40. I my self am 35

I didn't realize that this thread was full of kids. How about this. I received my first Porsche (996) as an early 70th birthday present 30 months ago. I will be 72 in a weeks time 9th October. I have been admiring the 911 Porsche since they first came out back in 63 when I was 22 years of age. I must be the oldest 911 owner on rennlist unless someone says differently.

37% are over 50 at this point. I was not expecting that.....maybe some bias due to the forum member's typical demographics as well. Hurdi, at 72 you rock the top end for sure !

One possible explanation of the older demographic is that the affordable price of the 996 makes it an easy addition to the family fleet. For a younger owner, the 996 may be their daily driver. For older owners, it's a pleasure car. My wife and I are in that second group and have three cars ... her DD, my DD, and the 996.
Which begs the question of another poll ... what % of 996's are daily drivers?

Just thinking. I was 22 years of age when the 911 came into production in 1963. You young dudes were not even born then, or if you were, you were not old enough to drive one. BTW I intend to be still driving this car when I am 90 haha. I will not be changing it for any other. UNLESS I WIN THE LOTTERY and buy the latest fastest PORCHE 911. I never get old. I ride mountain bike, kayak, scuba dive, fly a plane, swim a lot, and go to the local rec centre. That's when I am not causing havoc on this page or driving my 911.

First Porsche at 21, 15th at 67 (996). Along the way xke, xk120, lancia scorpion, rx-7 race car, Alfa 2600, AMG, Austin Healy 3000, MGA, etc. Over 100 cars but always a Porsche as daily driver.
