Cabriolet - Convertible Top Issue
I just bought a 2002 996 Cabriolet, and now I'm having an issue with the convertible top. It is currently closed, and I cannot get it to retract. When I hit the button on the dash, the indicator light just flashes, and I hear some clicking in the back. Nothing else happens (the windows don't start to roll down or anything).
The parking brake is on (the indicator light confirms this, and I've tried putting it down and up again), I popped and re-closed the engine compartment to ensure it's closed, and I've tried both the dash button and the door lock method. I've tried it with the engine running and the engine off, and I just installed a new battery. It was working fine, and then this happened all of a sudden.
Advice is very much appreciated.

Three Wheelin'
I'd start here:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti..._Mechanism.htm
Read up on that, then maybe check the DIY section over at Renntech.com
I believe the first part in the "sequence" is the unlatching of the front hook to the windshield area. If the trunk is closed, handbrake is engaged, that should be the first thing to move.
I think I recall reading that the handbrake microswitch can be the culprit, even if the dash light indicates that the handbrake is engaged, but I'm not certain.

I second trying the fuse, then going through the Pelican article.

Sorry I gave bad info. According to the manual in my glove box and empirical data my 2003 can be opened while moving. I thought that started with the 3.6ltr change.
