Good idea? Connecting 12V 22Ah battery to the cigarette lighter socket
996 is parked at a garage with no electricity sockets. So, I cannot hook up a battery maintener/conditioner directly to the car.
Currently, I have Bosch S5, 74Ah battery installed.
As Porsche's cigarette lighter socket is "hot," could I simply hook up a 12V 22ah maintenance-free battery to a 996's cigarette lighter socket so that my car's battery will not run flat for about 1 month's time.
I figure the additional 12V 22ah capacity could help the main battery a bit.
What I have in mind is a Yuasa 12V 22ah lead acid battery which is light and compact (about 7inch x 3inch x 6.6inch).
What do you think? Are there any safety issues I should be concerned?

a risky proposition
The problem here is the battery source output would not be modulated as a trickle charger would be.
Plugging in a simple 9V battery to the lighter socket supposedly will help the ECU retain settings and the radio to save the activate codes in the event of a discharged battery. But the amperage output in this case would be very, very low.
My recommendation...remove the battery and take it inside where you can connect a trickle charger. NOTE: disconnect the negative terminal first and reconnect it last.

Can you park near the office where an extension cord might reach to an outlet there?
