Default Boxter S engine in a 996 thread?

Used the search function and even Google to look for the thread where the owner replaced his 3.4 with a 3.2 from a Boxter S. Anyone knows where that thread is?

Imo000, I thought you would have bought that blown 3.2 996 from that thread by now!

Just looking for possible option to get the 996 on the road while I finish fixing the original engine. Maybe if I can find a real cheap 2.5, I might just put in in there as a stopgap. Also it's a slow day at work.

How plug-n-play is the Boxster to 996 swap? Say, same year for both?

In a 1999 Boxster versus 996 outside of displacement then only difference I can think of is the 996 intake has a dme controlled secondary air source .
