Talking Look what only took me 6 months to find out!

I am a genius!

I have been cursing Porsche for delivering the car with only one tiny cupholder when suddenly during a (very) spirited driving, cuphodler #2 popped up from nowhere!

Haha! I also didn't know my car had another one until my wife was playing with it and found the "hidden" feature.

Same thing happened to me. But my 6 yr old son a the time said there are 2 cups in the little picture...then the light came on! Too funny - glad I wasn't the only one.

And such a perfect location for a coffee holder - right over the radio and HVAC controls. What could go wrong...

I hear you, when I was selling my 996 interior someone asked for my cupholder. I told them that it didn't have one. I never noticed it before.

should be called an "empty cup" holder, I don't see a big gulp lasting long in either one

Cool feature. I wish I had that on mine as I have NO cup holders.

The salesperson told me that unfortunately the 996's only have one cupholder. I didn't really think much of it. Got it home and quickly found there were two. It only took me a week or so to find that aggressive turns with a cup in position #1 will make it slide out and it happens pretty regularly. Either yours is stickier than mine, you need to be more spirited, or you're smoother than I am.
