there is a Stage 1 and Stage II. Was stage one a newer gen? then Stage II is current?

I know there has been much tuning of pipe diameter over the generations.

sorry if these are noobie questions. Only had my 996 less than 6 months and am still learning from you grand masters.

Default Fister D Exhaust installed - BEST MOD

Kab1994 said that he got his in 2 days maybe less. I spoke to Darin personally when I ordered.
I ordered on 3/16 and does not communicate much so I don't think I am really getting anything.
Is there another sport muffler mod that is like Fister's? I heard about an RSR...but they look like another extra pipe.

Normal for him to have a backlog and for there to be a wait. A few years ago when I ordered mine I think he said I was looking at 3-4 weeks. Sure enough he called when he had the order ready to go and checked in with me to make sure that I still wanted them.

I received my set of FisterD mufflers yesterday and installed them this afternoon. Installation was a breeze using the instructions Darin emailed me. I let the car warm up to temperature and then went for a drive. All I can say is WOW! This is by far the best upgrade I have done to my 996.

Darin received mine this Tuesday and shipped out two days later. Great service, looking forward to firing it up.

I appreciate that. I try hard to keep everyone happy. Sometimes it is overwhelming with the amount of orders and inquiries I get. I am bringing in my son this summer to work with me full time. That should help a bunch!

This mod sounds awesome, but I was wondering what the 1" vs the 2" does to the tone of the exhaust, as I can understand 2" gives it a deeper tone than compared to 1"? And is the 2" the measured diameter of the inside of the piping used?

Regards
Carl

I'm anxious to have Darin perform this mod for me. Unless I am mistaken he only offers one modification for the 996 mufflers. Not sure what diameter pipe he uses.

What is the consensus on the coatings that are available? Is it worth the extra amount to do this? For those who have coated muffler's do you perceive a difference in how much heat there seems to be coming from the cans after parking your car?

Anyone recommend having them coated by Darin?
