Default Loud BANG today from the car while driving...scared the hell out of me.

I was driving around 50MPH....heard a loud bang, I thought my front tire blew. Was about one block away from my house. I checked the oil pressure...all was good. Pulled into the driveway....heard a scraping sound on the concrete.

Inspected in the garage....12 inch road construction nail got kicked up by the right driver tire and impacted through the plastic under my front seat. Did not penetrate that floor board. Guess I got lucky......Thanks Colorado!!!!!

At least all is well with the car. Still, scared the hell out of me and could have turned out worse. And no joking, 1 foot long!!!!

No comment. Okay. I lied. There might be a little bit of difference between not seeing a nail and not seeing a couch.

Obviously you are okay so I'll make fun. Hope your car wasn't hurt too bad.

I was in 2nd, not like it matters much but did not see it. I figure there is nothing under the driver seat underbody that it pierced that would matter. Just glad it did not hit the tire as the rims and tires are new. Did not take much to pull it out. Speed limit was 45 so was not much over, getting ready to make the next left to go home. Sounded like a loud pop. I knew it was not my Glock in the side pocket...but still scared the hell out of me. This thing I guess is my new ice pick.

And yep....road debris is no joke...seen people get bumpers torn off by big rig tire treads left on the freeway. Last time I hit something was in my 2004 Maxima, hit a big chunk of ice from a big rig that came from the rear of it...tore off my front lower spoiler at 75MPH.

I got hit by a 4x8 sheet of ply wood once. It came out of a truck im front of me and took off like a wing. People on both sides of me so nowhere to go. Just slammed on the brakes to minimize damage and it landed on the roof. Luckily the damage was minor.

It was either a big chair or a couch, it was night, i was on the onramp getting onto freeway, looked to my left to make sure no other cars were there because you merge when you get off the onramp looked front saw something wood..bang..front of the car messed up, huge chunks of wood.. i knew what it was from the springs + the cop told me she was already on her way to the area to remove a big chair someone called about...i'll write up a post about this later...no body or major damage, but bumper is toast, radiator toast, right headlight toast.

ps: this was in Scottsdale AZ not in Egypt, if it was in Egypt, a guy would have been sitting on that chair, drinking tea & smoking his hookah, and would have slapped me a couple of times for me bothering him while he's chilling on the freeway! lol

a couch?.... maybe you can upgrade to a turbo. I hear it can be done via insurance.
