Default YOUR ADVICE PLEASE

Drove by the dealership this afternoon and spotted this one.

Please let me know what you think.
Carfax Report found at www.toybarncars.com
1999 996 Polar Silver
Polar Silver hardtop - black soft top with glass window (99?)
Full leather interior with heated seats - in black
no accidents - no rust - no pumpkins - no RMS - no IMS
47,900 miles and asking 29,863

Is 30,000 too much for a 1999 cab?
Do not like the black on polar silver - would prefer they match
Have not seen inside of it yet - just drove by it
Would love to hear your thoughts about it - TIA

I believed they've had that one for a while now...i think it's still priced too high
They had it parked outside? I don't think i've seen any of their parked cars outside

As we near Spring, the price of Cabs goes up, unrealistically. Watch yourself, especially if your not completely crazy about the color........not worth overpaying due to time of year, especially if it isn't absolutely "perfect", in your mind.

A bit..... well alot over priced Karen. Go for it if the cost doesn't bother you. Looks like a nice find.

I haven't done any price resarch so I can't say but the price does 'sound' high, optimistic at least.

I tried to view the pics of the car and was unsuccessful.

Be sure you give the car a very thorough used car inspection, and arrange to be a passenger in the car on a longish (~15 miles) drive and then repeat the route as a driver.

The route should give the test driver and then you a chance to exercise the car in a variety of driving conditions: city stop and go, low to moderate speed and high speed cruising. You want the chance to experience the going up through the gears to whatever terminal velocity you can stand and that is safe and legal.

Subject the car to a hard brake or two, too.

If the car passes your test ride, drive, inspection, and you think you can buy the car for an agreeable sum of money, then arrange to have the car PPI'd by a shop that knows these cars inside and out and can also pull the DME overrev counts and interpret them for you.

Remember a couple of things: Price is not a fact, only an opinon. And there's always another car.

Happy shopping!

Sincerely,

Macster.

What color is it and is it a cab - HAS to be a cab! Is it the one in your avatar? Would love to meet up with you - I feel like I am in WAAAAY over my head with all of this, even though the salesman seemed surprised at the questions I was asking

I'm not sure if I was reading the car fax report correctly (I'm so new to all of this) but it seems like the car was a rental (think Hertz) and then it sat for several years - that worries me if it is accurate - don't know how you all feel about that.

earlier I didnt look at it... WHAT?

OK that is not a good looking car for $30k - halogens, side skirts and no front or tail, what wheels are those, look a little BLING for me, seats are worn/weathered, there is missing paint on the hood release, Cassette holder is nice , motor dirty, old expansion tank.

I say no - as before
