Default 27.5 MPG

I thought I would check MPG this weekend
I headed to a wedding in Portsmouth, VA - drove from Alexandria, VA (back and forth)
A good portion of the drive is highway so I used cruise control quite a bit
But the good news was - no tickets
Luckily I did not hit traffic - left on Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
I was surprised I averaged 27.5 MPG - is that common for highway driving (around 75mph - top up for most of it), I expected a bit less.
I have a little over 75K miles on her and she ran great - just wished the roads were a little more entertaining.
Also - I do not recommend driving in tunnels with the top down - way too loud

I usually only get around 20 the way I drive so that is pretty good!

Before my car was a track only ride... I would get 26 to 27 highway with the cruise control set at 72!

Labor day weekend I drove from central Georgia to Amelia Island, FL. I used cruise control as much as possible and kept the speed right around 75 mph.

I was rewarded with 28 mpg.

I have gotten 25-26+ cruising at 75+ in cruise control. More commonly get 22-24 though, and 14-18 around time.

My trip to Tampa got me almost 26 MPG.

Around town I get about 17 MPG.

But once driving to the Tail of the Dragon I got 30 MPG because I was doing only about 60-65 MPH. It's unbelievable that a car with these abilities can pull those sorts of numbers.

Now that's a fairy tale if I ever heard one. 60 - 65 on the Tail of the Dragon? Not likely. Certainly not the same Tail of the Dragon that I drove!!! When I drove it, I was driving at about 30 - 35 mph, and was turning the wheel as fast as I could lock to lock. It was exciting, but either you were dreaming about driving the Dragon, or you're totally insane.

Cruising hwy, relatively steady speeds, I get 28-30mpg. Overall, tend to get 21-22mpg per tank.

But then again, my car isn't a real Porsche. I can't be a "real guy" if I'm getting that good a mileage.

So, I must be an alien driving a TR3.

Never mind.

See what happens when you don't read posts more closely?

I said when I was driving TO the Tail of the Dragon. Not on it!

My drive to there from Charlotte is a little over three hours. But once on the road yeah, the driving style changes and of course the speeds are much lower but a lot more exciting!

When I drove my car back from Kentucky I averaged about 70 to 75 mph and got a little over 25 MPG. I was trying to see how high I could get the MPG so it was not normal driving. I did not use the cruse much. That was with the toe way off. I had an alignment done last week among other work so I am thinking I could get it a bit better. Only have my car three weeks now it is very hard for me to drive this car in a manner that delivers good gas mileage.

I go out of my way to avoid highway driving, I would rather drive on back roads than just high speed highway driving. I average 18-20 non highway, which I think is great for any car. Best MPG was 24 with almost 200 miles of highway driving.

Give your self some time, you will slow down to more sane speed. I was the same way when I got mine.

320 miles in the mountains last weekend and 27.7 MPG. Just cruising on the highway I can easily do 32mpg.

I love my car
