Fernando. OK, you caught me!! I missed that word in your post. But driving the dragon is sure a kick, isn't it? Obviously, pictures don't do it justice.

Mine is pretty steady at 21.3 mpg, and at that rate I'm pleased.

I typically get right around 22 for non-highway. This summer we averaed 28.3 and 31 for trips with cruise set at 75 with the top up and about 26.5 with the top down, IMHO too loud for hours on the highway unless you use ear plugs.

WOW - you guys who are getting 18-22 for NON highway? That is insane. I do probably 1/2 highway driving and I'm happy to get 17mpg. But then again... I've also been really enjoying it

22 MPG in the city and 27 - 28 on the highway? Boy, you guys are either light-footed, or you have some high efficiency engine in your cars that is different than mine.

I unashamedly am heavy footed. As an example, I was zipping down the Kennedy expressway on my way to my daughter's house this weekend. Clipping along at an even 100 mph, I watched in my rear view mirror, wary that I was going to be caught from the rear. My focus shifted to the front of my car, when a quick scan of the four lanes in front of me identified a State Trooper two lanes to my right, running a comfortable 60 mph. To say that I was gaining on him was understatement.

I hit the brakes hard to keep from passing smokey, and dropped in behind him for the rest of the trip. . . . . . . Driving at speeds like that, and accelerating at "fun" levels has no doubt affected my gas mileage, I'm sure. But I have this car for the FUN QUOTIENT. If I wanted fuel economy, I would have bought a Prius.

Love the white faces with the aluminum bezels. Who did you buy the aluminum bezels from, and was it hard to install? Did you pull the entire instrument pod to put them on, or did you just slip them into place?

Larry - I purchased them from Pelican parts.
I used double sided tape to install them - some have used silicone sealant.
I did not have to remove the cluster to install them.
Just make sure to use alcohol on the contact surfaces to make sure the adhesive sticks well.

Thank you all for the info, great replies!
It seems i am in line with all of you, I would guess by it that my alignment is pretty good, and the engine is running pretty well.
I use my 2004 is a daily driver and I was around 19.5 MPG - I figured it would be interesting to reset it and see what it would do with mostly highway driving.
My guilty pleasure is that I bring the RPMs pretty high while winding through the gears on curvy on ramps (favorite time of day). I would guess you all do.
I also agree with the silver bezels on white dials - I think it was was a factory option on my car (I do not have an S): i think the code is X71

Yes the Dragon is an awesome road! The pic on the bottom right of my signature is one of the corners where the freelance photographers sit and take photos of passing cars.

I've been there three times now and each time it felt like a new experience. And to top it off nearly every road in that area has some similar characteristics so just going for a drive is really rewarding.

...sure beats commuting on a daily basis which is what my car does when it's not having fun!

I don't get to drive too much these days(public transportation) so when I do, I have to make sure I keep it UNDER 14mpg or else I'm doing something wrong...
