I get a weird metaliic noise almost like a metalilic creak when the drivers window is going down, towards the end of the travel and when the window is going up it can be heard from the down position to about 3/4 of the way up.

Good speed just the noise and it happens each tiime I use the window. Could it be the regulator failing?

Both of mine have been replaced. I agree that this sounds like a failing regulator. Next you'll get the crunching sounds!

I get a loud shrieking noise when my passenger window goes up, about 2/3rds of the travel...and rocking of the car as the kid tries to pull his head out.

I've replaced both my regulators. It's a DYI and the part is about $220+/-. Took me several hours on the 1st one and a couple on the 2nd one.
