New member looking for pricing info
Hello there,
I'm a BMW fanatic, currently own a 2001 BMW M5. First time in my life I decided to switch to Porsche. Looking at 2004 996 c4s with 36K mi, 2 owners in excellent condition. Here is the link

What do you think about this car? What is the fair price to buy this 911?

If it's absolutely pristine (everything is "smack my ***" perfect) $39K is the most you should pay.

Thank you so much. I'm specifically looking for low mileage c4s and my price range is $40K. I don't think I will find a turbo for that kind of money.

I would ask for history record on this....
Transmission removed to complete repair
Axle bearing replaced
Oil and filter changed chassis lubricated
Transmission checked
Front crankshaft oil seal replaced
offer him 37K.... the car will not sell at his asking price.

I think his asking price is high, but I wouldn't be shocked to see it sell either. I see a lot of cars sold at dealers with prices that seem "too high" by any guide. Things are worth what somebody's willing to pay for them. If it's the exact car you were looking for with the colors/options, etc. than that ought to be worth a premium. Privately selling that car, I'd be surprised to see it bring more than 39.5k or so, something to consider.

You can definitely get a turbo or even a 997 for that price. I would not go for this car but if you're bent on a C4S then at least keep looking around. The blue interior is kind of cool though.
By the way, post pics of the e39!
