Happy motoring in the 997. (I figured out what you were talking about)

I think I've got.
"Wished I kept all three" makes it seem like he doesn't have any of them anymore.
But, upon further review, it would appear that the OP has indeed kept one (the 997), and yet still wishes he had kept all three. - - elementary, my dear Watson, elementary!

Nope, it was 1996, came out in 1996 1/2, with the 3.2l engine, different wheels and newer trim. Same 240 hp but more torque I believe. Great handling and very reliable. Needed a six gear.

Either way, it looks like you've really made good use of each of the cars you've owned. Congrats

The front kidney grill was new in '97, only the '96 had the original grill, but did have the newer side skirts and wheels. Never in an accident. Only rash. forgot the name of the color, maybe basal black?

ah, you are corect. it's been awhile since I've had my e36 m3. '95-96 models shared the same front grills.

I've had 4 e36 M3s, I could've sworn the front end/side marker lights changed over in 96. I never looked at coupes so I was limited to the 97-98, pardon my ignorance.
Enjoy the new car, it looks pretty.
