I put one of these on over the summer, while doing a bumper service
and installing mesh grilles
very soft and slightly more aggressive, it can flex when going over a parking stop or steep angle

I painted mine, used an adhesion primer, but it already needs to be be
repainted

You can paint match bed liner that will hold up much better or have the clear brah over the lip.

Hey guys... I just went to see a 40th AE today with about 55k miles. It's an immaculate one-owner example. Everything is 100% tip top. Pulls nice, and felt tight for a 12 year old car.
The car is being sold via a Porsche dealer, with no CPO, but the car has been serviced at the dealer for its life.
The car has one single blemish I could find, it looks like the owner or perhaps someone at the dealer squished the front plate mount into the front bumper cover making a small crease in the plastic and paint. May have slightly stripped the screws for the plate as well. I haven't unscrewed it and looked.
Questions:
-Would you guys still do a PPI? - I'm working on getting the full service history, it seems the car has had the water pump done, but not IMS/RMS/Clutch (but I'm waiting to see via the history)
-How much do you think it would cost to fix the bumper? Can a body shop just use a little filler and repaint? Or would I need to buy a new cover?
Thanks!

I bought a 28k mile car from a retired Engineer and PCA member. Oil change receipts from dealer every 12 months since new regardless of miles and super clean. I still spent the money to put her up on the rack, check oil filter for shinny bits, etc... no leak down but pretty good PPI.
Dont forget a good PPI will do over rev check also which will tell you how hard and skillfully the car has been driven and check engine light history or pending faults.
As for bumpers repair is cheap and full after market nose replacements are plentiful and not expensive. You might ask ppi shop to pull bumper and make sure no damage under skin depending on.... Hard to say with no pics.
I was considering 6GT3, 6 Turbo and the AE. After driving several of each I chose the AE. Each of these cars provides driver with very different feed back. The AE was the wifes favorite also. The GT3 scared her and the turbo was too mucho. While she doesnt drive the AE often she isnt afraid to jump the car and drive it anywhere.
If the owner will permit, and oil sample and black stone might be interesting if IMS is a concern.
You will get other feed back like; just buy it to dont be penny wise and ....
Good luck. The AE is a really fun car.

40th in Asheville, NC
There is a nice 40th for sale near me. $29K and 50K miles. You can view it here;
http://www.skylandautomotive.com/sea...x?Make=Porsche
I took a quick look today and it is exceptionally nice inside and out. A couple of wrinkles in door panel and that is about it. I believe the front bumper cover has been repainted because it doesn't exactly match and because it is flawless except for the lip on the bottom of course. I had the salesperson start the car while I listened and it made absolutely no worrisome sounds. No ticks or clicks or squeals. It appears totally stock and untouched right down to the old 01 coolant cap. It does have smoked side markers.
Oddly, the interior is black...?? I have an Autocheck that indicates it has been sold CPO by Porsche twice in its history, last time in Nov.,2011. The Autocheck is clean but does not include any maintenance info. The car has always been in the South. I could do a more in depth look and drive it if someone is interested.
