40th AE buyers guide in Total 911 mag this month.

Good write up, state its the most desirable 996 after the GT3 & Turbo.

They focus on the spec and adds over a C2 more than anything else.

The car in the feature was for sale at £49,000 and had been through many dealers hands. Hexagon state in the article that it is now sold, wonder how close they got to the asking price.

A good magazine feature that can only help our cars popularity.

Wow $75k+ is a premium we havent started seeing yet. I didnt check but I presume that was a very low mile car.

I installed RoW M030 on my 40AE and have been very impressed. I installed it 2 years ago so my original suspension was 9 years old. Even though it lowers the car the ride is great and very compliant over bumps. It handles great so well worth it :-)

Default RoW M030

This was the second mod I did on my 40th within the first six months of ownership back in early 2004. It was done by the selling dealer, Parktown Porsche in STL. The first mod was the Porsche sport exhaust (w/o the switch). Today, the car has 43,000 miles and while it has never been tracked, I've always enjoyed driving it. Love the way it sits, rides and sounds. I have scraped a few driveways over the years but nothing major; it dropped the car close to an inch. I have the receipts from the dealership buried somewhere deep in the files, but if memory serves, both mods installed by Parktown were around $1,500 each back in the day. Money well spent.

For some reason, they get a lot of Porsches of various sorts in. At the moment, they appear to have 7 including a couple of 997s.
I looked at that car last weekend, but didn't have a chance to test drive it. It was too much $, but I thought it would be interesting to see how it drove. Looked near mint inside. There was also a half-inch of paperwork placed between the seat and console.

I believe there may be a 40th AE in the Portland area as well.

Default Motor mounts

Well I finally got around to doing the motor mounts, and what a difference. I have read everyone else here who says they have changed them and how it helped, but I never thought it would be so drastic. Now I can tell it felt like the motor was held on by twine before, now feels way more secure.

Default Suspension

I see that others have refreshed their suspensions with other options, I dont want to lower the call at all, and would just like to refresh with the stock parts, anyone else done this? I have lower control arms, and tie rods waiting to go already, just need to figure the rest out.

The model number is 436 061070. Here's a pic from one seller's catalog - no actual photos of the model version are available yet.
did this ever materialize?
