What is that crazy foam thingy inside the airbox?
Took apart and cleaned out my airbox & TB today. Tookout that crazy foam thingy and it's bracket in order to clean it but the foam was crumbling some so I left it out. What is it for? Noise? water absorbtion?

I removed mine...I can't seem to find replacement foam.
I cleaned out my airbox as well. Needed to vacuum out the deteriorated foam. Can't seem to find replacement, unless I buy entire box. Also, not thinking it is needed....Thoughts???

same here, it was crumbling
intact but when you touched it just fell apart
the consensus is that it's primarily for moisture
I'm going to try and replicate mine from thin foam
as I threw a P300 code after a hand wash

It's supposed to stop the chance of water being inducted into the cylinders causing a hydro locking situation but I know what you mean about it crumbling , I had this also and can't find s replacement part, if anyone had a part number for this and someone who sells it please post on here!!
