Default 996 buying guide?

Hey guys,

My brother is considering buying his first Porsche 911. He's on a budget that I think will keep him in the 996 domain. With that said what would you suggest for a "buying guide" for the 996? Are there any publications or websites that might help?

Thanks in advance...

Matt

Go and buy the September issue of Excellence Magazine

There is a maket update for the 996 & boxster. They publish the latest pricing estimates and there is some real good info on the the different years.

If it's the 996 he wants it's the only source you will need.

Hello:

I wrote a '996 buyers guide' in spanish. I know It won't help you so much but It's plenty of pictures that can tell you lots of details of the 996.

You can download it here: (I think you must registered in the forum)

The file is called 'Guia996' and it's in 3 diferent resolutions to read or print

Matt - or you could show your brother this link. It is everything he needs to know about buying a P-car. OK, it is my car and it is for sale.

Matt:
I have found a book from Amazon: Porsche 911 Carrera, Turbo and GT (996) the Ultimate Buyer's Guide. The authors are Grant Neal and Peter Morgan. It was around $25 and is about 70 pages long. It is a helpful guide to keep with you as you look for the perfect car. I have re-referenced mine quite a bit.

Buy the newest Porsche you can afford. When you think afford, also keep in mind perhaps purchasing an extended warranty and the high priced maintenance and expensive short lived tires.

Matt, I just got my 99 6 speed, 996 back today from Porsche shop with a New "crated" ZERO miles motor with a full warranty motor from Porsche The total reciepts for this job was almost $13,000. If your brother wants a near perfect Artic Silver, with classic sprort wheels, Side Skirts, Wood shifter & hand brake, dash trim rings, Carrera script floor mats and 55K miles. You can email me @ accent2262@aol.com

Does anyone know the best place to get this book in the US? Amazon seems to be sold out and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.
