Hi,

Have you considered posting this on Pelican?

No, I haven't and I only advertise these things in the places where I hang out. I've never spent and time over there.

Okay, I've just gotten back from a dry run of next weekend's drive. All is well, the roads are open and we are good to go.

The drive is very pretty right now, but I'll say that it has a different character than the direction that we ran in April - more hill climbs and a little slower around the curves, due to the sight lines... still a fun drive though.

Glad to have you along.

For directions click on the link in post #1 and it will direct you to plug in your starting point and Google maps will tell you how to get there.

I'm interested. I'm in the DE area, but I could easily be in the NJ area. I'm litterally 10 days away from being 21 so I don't think I'd be able to attend any bars that you all fine gentlemen may choose to stop at but I'd be glad to bring my 03 C4S and go for a drive.

Would I be the youngest owner there?

I have no clue. We run these as PCA events, so we have no clue how many people are showing up until the day. Last time we had around 30 cars.

You're welcome to join us. No bars, just a fun backcountry drive.

Damn, you definitely beat me. I was 20 when I bought the 996, but now I'm 23. And I was 23 when I bought my 944 S. Time is just slipping by.

I've had the car for nearly 8 months now. I had just sold my Elise at the end of last summer to by the Porsche. I only had the elise for 3 months. I do expect to keep the C4S for one more year, then go for the 996 Turbo or possibly 997 GT3. You all will be the first to know and I look forward to meeting other Porschephobes.

Okay, last minute pointers:

i) Arrive with a full tank of gas. There is a gas station in Lambertville, but I don't know if it's open early so early, so you should fill up somewhere on the home stretch close to Lambertville.
ii) Use the rest rooms at the gas station - there are gas stations along the way, but we would hate to lose you. We will have a rest stop about a third of the way into the drive.
iii) If you have 2 way radios, bring them, as we'll have them and can all tune into the same channel.
iv) Arriving early is good.
v) Bring a camera and take lots of photos.
vi) If you have a map that covers upper bucks county, PA, then it will not hurt to bring it. The directions we've pulled together (I think) are pretty good, but on the off-chance that you get separated it will be good to have members of the group with maps.
vii) Have fun, but be careful with your speed until we get out of Lamberville. It is a 25 mph zone until we get out of town and the police do sit there with radar - don't worry, we'll be out of town in a few minutes and I'd hate for us to get a police escort up to the NJ border.

As for passing opportunities - pass where it's legal and safe. The route has plenty of passing opportunities.

Thanks again Wellardmac for putting this together again. I've been swamped with work and home but managed to pull this off - although without my navigator this time and I'll be leaving very early on Sat morning. I did manage to recruit 2 new potential Rennlister's - one will have a '03 996 C2 and the other will be driving a '06 Boxster.

I think the are both in for a big surprise on the fun factor. Looking forward to a beautiful day.
