Here is a vote for liking the new forum boards. I actually don't find them boring at all. The participation is good and there is a wealth of knowledge with some individuals that regularly pass that along - for free. I enjoy the banter with the individuals that jump in and contribute, or just comment. After all, it is a technical forum for people passionate about our cars, sharing information, or just messing around. Nuff said...

Oh damn! Normally I catch that but not this time "Agreed but the person complaining wrote this 15 years ago so I would hope he'd think differently now."

I asked the same question last year and received word that he is taking it easy right now. Completely understandable if I were in his position.

Not sure what the OP is expecting. I use this forum to ask questions or look for technical information and feedback. Maybe the OP should go to Facebook to satisfy their need for more social media.

Facebook didn't exist in 2001.

Maybe you should read the dates of the posts you're replying to

Agreed. I'm pleased that forums have been around long enough that there are now opportunities to revive fifteen year old threads. It's sort of like a time machine.

Yes, I resurected this thread since I was viewing old posts and value this forum so much for its wealth of knowledge. Pretty amazing that with all the technological advancements in the past 15 years the forum format has basically stayed the same. Some people still participate regularly on this forum that posted 15 years ago.

I found some describing the initial driving experience of the 996 when it was a new car. Interesting threads. Gives a nice perspective of how great the 996 is.

I remember back in the day we had to post uphill both ways. We didn't have PM's we had to use MySpace.

Rotten new 996 owners don't know how good you have it.

What I wouldn't of given for an advanced search function....

Hey why don't we go back even further to the days of BBS systems and Compuserve?

^^^I remember a day before Al Gore created the internet, when all we worried about is who would be the next intern to come out about having an affair in the secret hallway with Bill Clinton or what channel we'd watch after dinner... there was only 4 at the time on the rabbit ears. Or, if the 50 foot curly phone cord would finally reach to my bedroom. Or, if we would be the lucky family to own an Atari. Those were the days!

I agree with Fernando... why not we all agree to use Dos and dial-up modems? That would interesting!

Any man who uses "thanx" after the 12th grade - and even then, it's only acceptable if it's in response to a note from a member of the fairer sex - needs a kick in the nuts.
