Sports Exhaust - HELP!!! - Neighbours Hate Me!!!
Oh dear. Just took delivery of my 996 with factory sports exhaust. I was trying to get something that would 'boom' rather than rasp and pop. I feel like I'm 17 all over again in my first car with a hole in the silencer!
Help - The noise cuts out between 25 and 50mph. Is there anyway of adjusting the exhaust to lose the below 25mph noise?
My nieghbours hate me, my girlfriend wants to leave me and my 7:00am drive to work in traffic is giving me a headache!

I'll be happy to trade you a stock 996 exhaust for your factory sport. Mine is off the car, so you would not have any down time.If your neighbors still hate you, then you have other issues <g>

It would probably be a nice thing to trade Terry, but if it's impracticle, you can wire the valve closed on each of the mufflers. It's a little hard to explain, but I'd be surprised if your local P-car dealership service dept doesn't know how. Of course doing this will make them stock quiet all the time without exception.

Just picked up my new 2001 c4. Had two things done which make it even better. 1)Added a short shifter 2)Added the sports exhaust with an on/off switch. In the off position I sounds just like the stock exhaust. In the on position you hear the thunder under 25mph and over 44mph.
My P-dealer gave me the best of both worlds. Good luck!
