Which lot number was that? I'm not seeing it on the Barrett Jackson website, only this 993 Turbo, which sold for a healthy price.

Maybe that was just the auction fees. A quality 993 Turbo S is a +$500k car.

This 12k mile S sold for $419k last weekend? Is the market softening a bit on these or is this spot on?

Detailed thread on 993 forum re: this car........comments from several attendees who felt car showed wear, sold for way more than it's worth, etc.

Not the most desirable color for resale. Lots of people like the yellow, but its not worth as much as a white, black or silver.

Probably the weird paint to sample colors bring the most, being 1/1. Granted the crowd is much smaller. As mentioned, black, silver, white generally bring the $. Although I believe a Green/tan car holds the auction record from RM @ $565?

I can attribute it to a few things:

Right now, white is very popular as a new car color currently in most new cars. Especially sports and exotic cars.

secondly, there were not many white cars built, it wasn't a very popular color in the late 90s, everyone was buying silver cars back then. So they are a bit more scarce now.

White cars from what I have experienced working in the car industry and buying and selling these cars, have been bringing the most money other then paint to sample color turbos and carrera S models. This isn't just on the 993, but true in the 930, 911, 964/5, and new models as well.

I saw that car cross the block. What kind of moron pays $200K (not to mention the 10% fee) for a 37K mile silver 993TT ????

Somebody who never bothered to check the classifieds for the last year.

You can get the same car for $150-170k

BJ auction really gets alot of different characters and their money.
