Autobahn,

That's the goofiest excuse I've ever heard for using/not using nitrogen. I don't happen to have a periodic table handy, but I'll bet there isn't a 1/2 gram difference in weight between "air" (approx 20% oxygen, 80% nitrogen) and 100% nitrogen. Funny.

I think that your OPC doesn't really know what he's talking about. Just think of the weight savings if we filled our tires with helium.

Autobahn,

Maybe they thought that you wanted them to leave the tank inside the tire with the Nitrogen. That is the only way filling with Nitrogen could offset the weight of the hollow spokes. Either way, your OPC is nuts...
