Default Another thread...Give me your thoughts on this guards red 59K mile for sale locally

http://www.magcars.com/used/Porsche/...8d08764c9e.htm

I know this car personally and didn't get a chance to purchase from the owner prior to him trading it in. It has a 2 owner history, first for a few months then the current owner. Meticulously maintained at the dealer, original paint except bumpers, nice interior but wear consistent with mileage and age.

This is a driver, probably not a collector. Dealer is not likely willing to go under 142. I feel like this is all the money and then some and i don't feel the provenance of the previous owner makes up for it. Should i pass on to a lower mileage example. I believe for near 150 i should be getting a 30K mile car.

I personally love red/black. Original paint is a big plus as well. If you can get it for $130-135k I would say go for it.

What you believe is not what the Market is ready to gives you
30 miles car, first paint in very good condition cost in Europe at least 200k €
as soon a car with 30k comes in the Us market for sale 150k the Eurodealer will beat you

If you realistically think for approx $10K more you can get a car with half the miles in equal condition, then yes the answer is pretty clear.

Although keep in mind, you say the detailed history is known, well maintained and in a nice red/black combo do add some value. Unfortunately the reality is the dealer has to make some $ too.

Proceeding with a thorough PPI would be a good start. Cause the reality is even a vehicle with half the mileage doesn't mean it won't require $ into it. And with these cars the bills can add up pretty quickly.

History of the turbo s interior goes like this....first owner was limited founder mr wexner. He bought this car first... once his turbo s came in he sold it immediately to the second owner. Heapparently didng like the carbon fiber interior of his turbo s so the dealer swapped with this car..

A couple TTs sold at Mecum today.

Red/black 17k miles for $140k:

https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/FL0...Turbo/6-Speed/

Silver/cashmere 27k miles for $157k:

https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/FL0...Turbo/6-Speed/

(Plus a unicorn red/red 5000-miler for $305k but that doesn't really count.)-
$147k for that 59000-mile car is way high. If they actually want to sell it it should be in the low-to-mid 120s. I'd say pass and watch it sit for all of 2016.

Wow that's significantly below the estimated values. Good to see some actual selling prices, the market is definitely cooling down if those numbers are reality. What a deal for the red/black with nice sport seats too!

^ but how many of us would buy at auction without PPI etc. Those cars are likely headed to dealers - no?

The cars had been posted for a couple months. I believe you can arrange for a PPI if you're genuinely interested.

Im all for appreciation of all porsches. I have 4, but i think dealer overpaid, they might have to hold it till spring. Not a lot of tirekickers in the frigid temps next 6 weeks. I might throw a number at them and see if i get any interest. Imo. Huge difference between 20k miler and near 60k. Still kicking myself i didnt buy a 993 in 2004 when i bought my 996tt
