Getting into the CTR2 and pulling the door shut reveals the first surprise...the flat door cards with the cloth pull hands make the doors feel distinctively light in hand. The fit and finish is the typical german minimalist style we all love....green typeface on black dials, integrated roll cage with trim covering disguising it in the A pillars and roof.
The thing that always attracted me to the CTR2 was its look and exterior styling. Having driven and owned Ruf cars previously, I know they are about performance first and foremost. I have not been disappointed.
Trundling along in 2nd or 3rd, mash the right foot and the turbos begin a furious spool, slightly hesitant at first with a slight degree of lag.....followed by a shriek and howl of turbo spin and induction note....punctuated by whistles from the BOV when you come off throttle. The surge reminds me of the analog feel of the F40...boost comes on so suddenly and totally that the car surges forward with you pressed in the seat. Its the type of performance profile that keeps you coming back again and again for the same feel...it just never gets old. The thrust is relentless up through the gears and you feel its every bit as good for the advertised 217mph.... and feels faster than the quoted 0-60 time of 3.6s.

Ruf went through the engine, brakes, suspension, interior...goal was to "feel like you have a new car when we deliver it" according to Alois.
