Default GT2

Is there a separate place to post for 993 GT2s? As of January, they will be able to be imported under Show and Display with no modifications and I know of a few being imported? Terrific car!

No if you mean if there's another sub forum for GT2 only, otherwise we would have to have a Turbo, Turbo S, GT2, C2, C4, C2S, C4S, RS, RSR and so on subforums ...

GT2 is likely a small subcategory. The 993 GT2 is (I think) the only air cooled 'GT' Porsche street car since the 356 Carrera GT (other than the 20 strasse versions of the GT1). The GT1 and Gt2 are also the only turbocharged GT cars. CVR PCA is organizing a Father's Day concours next year featuring the GT Porsches - from 57 (356 Carrera GT) through the GT1, GT2 and the various iterations of the GT3 and GT3RS.

Steven, great idea (as I am also a huge 993 GT2 fan). I would just correct you that while the first run of GT2's (1995 Vin's) can be imported starting next month without EPA modifications (due to the 21 year exemption rule), the only 1995 GT2's were race cars. The first Strassenversions all carried 1996 Vin's and will be eligible for direct import (meaning without modification and only Show & Display approval) in January, 2017.

Mine is titled as a 96, but has a build date of 11/95. Apparently, we're good to go.

Right you are. I hadn't stopped to think of that when I wrote my reply (plus I have a good guess who helped source yours and he knows every good angle inbound!).

If I knew how to post photos, I might. Car is still in transit. White, 16k km (10k miles). Might be in LA during Lit Meet.

I guess I have lost track of the HS-7 importation rules. I never knew 'Show and Display' had a time threshold like general importation 25 years. Anyone able to explain?
