In the video link above, the car in the picture (not the video) if I'm not mistaken is Jochen Rohr's Andial built gt2 clone (although he sold it - to any one here?) (with rufus in the background!)

In the video he makes it sound like the GT2 is based off the Turbo WB chassis but it is based off a NB. Also I think one could say the chassis is not 30 years old but updated from the 964 to eliminate the 'widow maker' reputation (kinematic toe?). FWIW didn't GT2's use rose joints and or limited rubber bushings in the suspension? I am still on stock monroe USA ride height and I know exactly what he means by managing the roll movement from one direction to another - particularly after small steering adjustments. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Fun to watch though.

Rohr's car showed up at my local track this past summer. It is not for sale and the owner is a RL'er but wants to remain private. Rohr has been trying fruitlessly to buy the car back.

He only took it out for a couple of laps and it sounded great!

I really like the nose treatment and mesh grille instead of the turbo S ducts.

Regards,

Never understood why he sold it after building it, I recall him posting that it was 'too nice' to drive or something like that. It has aluminum panels/pieces (spares) off his old race car. I also recall him mentioning his Andial motor was different from the other builds (mine) with larger injectors and who knows what else.

Sorry upfront for the cynical attitude but for the umpteenth time no!
GT2 's are derived from the widebody chassis and rear quarter TT and
S platform...
RSR's are derived from the narrow body and quarter RS Carrera
platform ! How difficult is that to understand ?
Yes a true GT2 EVO likely has all monoballed (heim jointed)
suspension components , the street version even ClubSport likely
still has RS rubber components in the suspension !
Widow maker refers to the characteristics of the two wheel rear drive
capabilities of the GT a lot more unforgiving than all wheel drive
which offers traction of course on all driven wheels.
The GT was always based on the 993 suspension with rear multi link ...
Oh and yes that black car in the beginning is Jochen's converted TT
very similar to mine ...
Bert

Not entirely convinced that's actually a GT2 in the video. If nothing else a check of the UK insurance database shows it as a Carrera RS. A check of the vehicle registration database says it should be blue whereas it looks to be black?

Felix, happy new year to you That guy in the vid uses same shop as me, my shop said he is a funeral director and he owns quite a few GT/RS Porsches inc a 3GT2, I have seen it in the shop but can't remember what colour it was so couldn't say for certain that was his although that does sound like a turbo, maybe the DVLA got the car wrong ?
BTW he regularly track days the GT2 !
looks like he can pedal a bit too

Hi TB; HNY to you too; hope all's well. Happy to be wrong about my suspicion - he could also have moved number plates around which would make my checks quite invalid.
