Hers and His......
My wife has never really fully appreciated or enjoyed the '96 TT - usually commenting that it drives too much like an "old" car, which of course is one of the main reasons I love it so much!
So, in an effort to please her (happy wife - happy life!) and have the best of both worlds, I added a 2014 Targa4S to the stable. It has all the new car amenities she enjoys like a smooth & quiet ride, navigation, cup holders and of course heated seats!
These are two beautiful cars that are both a pleasure to drive for completely different reasons, and honestly - as much as I love driving the TT - the Targa is an absolutely stunning car and incredibly impressive in many ways.
So for now it's the Targa for date nights and the TT when I get a hall pass.

Sty, nice!
They are both right at 400 HP. The 993 has more torque.
Can you comment on the quickness and acceleration of each and compare?

Thanks for the feedback.......definitely not ready to let go of the TT. It's such a special car and as mind bending values continue to go up, I just cant imagine selling anytime soon....
Another drive in the Targa yesterday confirms my feelings - it's an absolutely wonderful driving machine and worth every penny paid. The acceleration is instant yet unbelievably smooth with the PDK being the most responsive and intuitive transmission I've ever experienced. Of course the overall refinement reminds me of what a dinosaur the TT really is, but that's to be expected.
I'm in the car business and I've driven just about every car on the road today - and I don't believe there's a car out there for this kind of money (around $150k) that delivers as much pleasure. (That statement should spark a fun debate!!!)

While I never drove a 991(yet) I always hear but POSITIVE things about this model.
In the other hand, I bet the Targa is faster than the stock 408bhp 993tt you have (if stock).
I have raced my friend's stock GT3 997.2 against my 993tt "Turbo S" specs and while my car was faster in every launch (from rolling) at the top end the GT3 will reach my car and just will pass me effortless. In theory my card had more HP and I believe more TQ, but maybe has soemthing to do with the gear ratios and other factors.
