I only know about a few Turbo Ss currently for sale, and excluding the apparently salvaged car, I don't know if there is anything for sale under 400 or 500k. I know they are asking prices, but where is a potential buyer going to get their TTS? If they came to me or (probably) doiublecabmel, it would be even more. I have turned down soft offers at 300k, so I am pretty sure there is plenty of demand at that level. Whether 400, 500, or 600 is needed to get you a car I don't know, but I'd like to see the trades to end users that are lower than 300k.

It might be that the market crashes and my car is worth 50k for all I know. I am not selling because I don't see anything else that I'd want that I could get with the same money at this point. It is not that I am betting the market will continue to go up. That said, you'll see my posts from 2006 making the case that the TTS premium that was then 50k over a non-S was justifiable. I still believe that. The market seems to agree x2, with the premium over a non-S probably doubling as a percent of non-S prices.

Here is one is one in Germany with 44k miles asking $675k:

I thought the Ferrari Dino prices were crazy three years ago, values keep going up, and number of Dinos > number of 993 TTSs.

I have a 458, used to have a 430, and I don't buy the Fcar is different theory.

There are very few shops who know their way around these cars despite what people say about production numbers etc..
Turns out a good friend of mine bought the red one from Beverly Hills Car Club. Not sure the specifics on it other than it had a higher miles on it. Still seems crazy numbers for some of these cars. But if there is a demand and there are buyers, they are going to sell.

I'd love to hear your market report for 959s and other specialty cars.
Lol. Man, I wish I owned one!

Finally someone with the cajones to list a 993TT without a reserve:

Still might not be totally representative because it's a 97 with the sunroof delete and white seems to bring more, but it will sure be interesting.

It is also white and blue. That'd be hard for me to take. Still, it will be fun to watch. I suspect it will be canceled before the auction end: "sold locally."

US turbo Ss are parts bin exercises and they don't even get the Weissach suspension or K24 kit like the Euro ones did....

Somebody on the thread below says it is code X73, I can't verify that but it was available as a retrofit with parts as er in the thread. My 993 has it, it changes the character of the car and an S without this and the K24s is what ? a 993 turbos with a few bits....IMO

Crazy market

My point was more that the US version of the S is barely different to the normal 993tt it really was a few bolt on bits and lots of trimming so IMO not comparable as a collector car as eg a 993RS or GT2 but I guess people get fixated with "production numbers" even though the 993 turbo S was never really "produced" it just had more options fitted on the production line.

Even the Euro one is a bit of a fraud IMO, I was offered one back when they were announced and it was something like £120K ($180) which I remember being ludicrous for the bits fitted. The suspension kit was a separate development as a turbo Sport kit from Weissach and the K24 kit was again a separate tweak available for optional fitment by Porsche even after delivery.

The market is the market and it is quite interesting to watch
