Just about exactly like my motor. Literally nearly identical except the motec setup.

I guess I need to hurry up with my 4.1 and a side of motec with 3586'ers for desert.

Now that I read through the post and checked out the build... What was wrong with the car to the point that Eddie Bello couldn't get it right???

RPM north is him and his gang. Hope all is good and simple to get taken care of. You should though just send the car to Protomotive to get all sorted out. He's got the most natural skill. Kevin can too of course. Always. But which ever of either would be the best hands. As you can't just "tune" it in the state it's in. A build at this level needs harmony.

Man its a serious risk I was willing to take. Bought on ebay with a 0 rating seller. But its loaded on the truck now and I have the free clear title in hand. I want to tune it, have local porsche guy fix any oil leaks and have a race car for the street. What would make it a 3.8, bigger pistons? The did some metal work to the top of the pistons and heads are better flowing. Still what kind of horsepower do you guys think this can get. I was thinking 600Hp easy? Maybe 650Hp

Yes, and the cylinders too.

a 3.8 requires different piston and cylinders. Your build sheet says 3.6 OEM P&C. As to hp, really depends on turbos and boost used/race vs pump gas and how reliable you want the engine to be etc., but those numbers are possible.

very impressive build, What fuel do you plan on running? It looks like your fuel system may be the limiting factor. I only saw 1 pump being listed and would like to know what "high flow injectors" are. But otherwise this engine is very similar to a 1000hp build. Your infinity system will be able to go flex fuel so you may want to go that route.

I have seen the car in a few shops in the area. It defintiely has a nice build sheet. verden Tool is top notch. I believe quite a few people have worked on it. Seems car just needs to be sorted out and hopefully some first hand tuning might do the trick. Let us know how it goes once sorted out.

Should this build have 2 fuel pumps? Cant one high flow pump work? Would a good tuner see the flow rate. This really was an expensive build by previous owner but something isn't sorted out yet. Im going to call protomotive and see if I can hire a tech to come out to MN. Motec does that maybe they can. Hope the car can get running right for not too much money!

Are there skilled enough shops in the Twin Cities to sort this car out? You might need to send the car to Kelly Moss in Madison. About the closest shop I can think of that may be able to handle your car.

Talk Todd Knighton into coming to see you. Before it gets cold up there ;-)

Ferrari Buyer On another note I am PM'ing you a shop in 952 area code that took care of Steve Beddor's CTR2 monster(google it). My friend who lives in MPLS who has a RUF btr says this shop is top notch. If any of the other MPLS area guys want the info just PM me. I don't think I'm allowed to just list the shop in the open forum.

I'm worried that the car must have been running right at some point (with the build sheet/monies spent). If something happened to make it not run properly why wasn't if sorted by the people who built it?
Hopefully it's something simple..(I'm being sincere).
A lot of the higher hp builds have twin fuel pumps, just need to do some data logging to check the air-fuel ratios on load. It's also good insurance, I put an extra fuel pump in mine.

Thanks for all the help guys, I talked to Protomotive today and he won't be able to work on it until November. I would love to have it fixed by someone close by it has a motec data logger maybe that will tell the tuner some details. I just hope its not internal failure.. otherwise Im going to have to sell the other toys to pay for this one.
