Wow mecum a bit of a joke today. Swarms of people. This is a new venue for mecum so there's an immense turnout. Sellers market for sure.

The car is lowered, old muffler bypasses in place/no taper, and indeed has 112k on it and it looks it. Seats really look 112k. 996 wheel and carbon shifter ****. Think there is a new carpet inside for some reason. No rust or very little just cosmetic around the sills. Reconditioned hollow spokes in place. It's a pure driver but we all knew that. Yes paint but it's a decent job/rear fender plastic film beyond perished . This car needs some tcl in a big way. Subjective fun observation....it looked downright tiny next to all those muscle cars/funny she'll blow most of their doors in...ha!

Just looked up the Mecum auction in Monterey in August and there are some pretty awesome cars, another 993tt being one. What looks really sweet is a 964 turbo S and a 72 RS. Lots of 930s and early cars as well.

I too took another look at it today and notice an oil leak on the left side that was leaving a nice trail. Under the lights the paint doesn't look so good as I thought it did when I saw it in April. That being said with 112K miles its still a great looking car.

The white 930 speedster was one clean car.

Yup I saw the oil too though I thought it was coming from the drivers side turbo so maybe not a huge deal. BUT u do have a point b/c if this is the same owner who's had it for awhile an elementary overfill to cause a turbo oil leak is not likely. It did seem "wet" with oil at the bottom of the case (but I'd say 60% of these cars are like that so I discounted that as the origin). So u had a "trail" observed?.....k that's prolly....bad

When I spoke to the guy in April he did tell me it was leaking oil on his garage floor. I took it as most of my cars did a drop here and there but when I saw his yesterday it was a trail of oil.

He's only had the car 9 months or so the reason he told me he was selling it was his wife said it was to fast for him. The car came out of FL and the PO was some type of race car driver, not sure it that's a good thing or not.

I hope it goes well for the guy, not sure he will get what he's looking for in PA or not but might go well for him with someone on the net that can't put eyes on it.

Well here's a snapshot...... this just goes to show you how good a car can look in a photo but up close this car needs major TLC.

BUT the big one is where is this oil leak coming from? Could be a $1000 valve cover or 15k partial rebuild. No history means roll of the dice; hence why it's at an auction...my .02

This is a good car for a shady tree mechanic who knows their way around a 993TT and goes to Vegas a lot

He could of just sold it to me back in April for $55K and saved himself all the trouble to make less on the car.

What I was thinking. Auction is over so gloves off. This car was rough. And your 55 was generous. And the paint was known but it looked painted; My front facia and fenders are painted on my car (before dr color chip....ha) for road rash.....but u can't tell at all. Need a paint meter. This cars paint looked like a melting ice cream cone. Meaning it looked thick, too deep, artificial, and disproportionate to rest of wear on car. Know what I mean? When u can just look at a car from 10 feet and say "that's been painted". And I saw that oil under the car too. But owner knew people are fighting over these and as I said Harrisburg was a melee sellers market. 56 was good luck for him.
