Question about K16 turbo's

On a 993 turbo is there a right and a left turbo? My brother purchased two factory turbo's and his mechanic said that they are both right side turbo's. Is this possible? I have never heard of this before.

different part numbers for left and right, so yeah, that sounds right.

Ok, does he have to get a left side turbo or will these turbo's work?

Both "turbos" are identical but not the bracket, oil pan, and bolt on accesories IIRC, so yeah, you need the left one to properly install it.
