Default 197mph in 1000 meters!

Sorry if this has been posted before but this 993tt scoots.

Gotta love the 5K rpm launches. I think I'll not try to replicate that launch..ever. hahaha.

Tacker, looks like you and this Brazilian are wired similarly. btw, how is your car coming along.

I would love to be his supplier for transmission main-shafts --

Interesting cool-down for the turbos as well - about 2 seconds.

Cheers,

Mike

1000 meters almost 3/4" of a mile, not impressed.,what 's more impressive is not using the rear wing, that car must dropped to the ground pretty much, at that speed it will be very nervous without the rear wing.,btdt., cheers,

Not only he uses ice for the heat soak, he is spraying either CO2 or Nitrous on the intercooler, nice.

I think for an air cooled 911 almost 200 in 3/4 mile is impressive...if it was a 996tt then I'd agree with you. How many 993 are over 200 in the mile events these days? Besides did you see the road they were using...lol.

Also Sonny you represent about <.01% of 993tt owners since your beast has +800hp. So I suppose it would take a lot to impress you.

that's a very narrow road for such a thing. I think he would do better with a softer launch and incorporate a "boost by gear" type controller. But then again is hard to say without looking at the Data.5k clutch drop will cost about 5k.

I've been researching my future transmission upgrade.

Since the March texas Mile I probably only burned 2 tanks of fuel. In a effort to drive it more I started driving to work and within a week some jack *** ran into the back of me while I was stopped at a light. Only bumper skin damage but I had to take the opportunity to redo the both front and back and the decklid. Because the bumpers are aftermarket garbage I decided to correct all the fitment issues and block sand until I got the sanding ninja award. I will pick up the parts this week. Work and life got in the way and turned this into a 3 month project. I did finish my CF airbox and will post in the next couple of days. Also changing my clutch in the next 2 weeks.

This monster claims 198mph in 19s (if he has logged it all correctly), this is a solid 900hp, the way the rev counter was going past 7K together with the cammy idle indicates this thing will produce its peak at over 7000rpm so 850NM @7500 and lots of boost is my guess.....
This motor will not be lasting very long at these levels and require lavish "maintenance", heads, clyinders etc - but what a beast

Engine longevity is so use dependent though. I suspect this person is not using his car like this very often? could be as little as once or twice per year which probably isn't too bad. If just used on the street driving reasonably, will probably last forever. Daily track use vs weekly vs monthly (for me just monthly track events during the summer, most sessions 20-45 mins, 8 or so sessions per day) would have different longevity. Using any of these engines just on the street driven reasonably, the engines would probably last a long time.
I understand the deep pocket for builds but ?how special/how much money can you throw at the engines, most people are still using Mahle heads/p&c, ? is there anything proven that people are using now that have different alloys or something? Anyone figured out if you can use DFI in an air cooled engine or something else thats going to make a game changer?

The key to it is heat management, heat dissipation & absorption in the right places. There are plenty of better materials and machining know how floating around to be used for the best.

In the end it's all about the Cylinder heat temps and tuning. E85 is the way to go with big power setups.

Out of Curiosity why not use something like C14 or C16 for hard runs like this? I would run 110+ octane leaded in my 951 race car all the time and it was safe as can be and everything seemed happy(yes even the Bosch O2 sensors didn't care) Though this was before E85 was really out there.
