Default Adjustable boost

Hi all, when I bought my car I remember reading somewhere that one way to pass emissions in CA was to turn down the boost before the smog check. I had no problem passing last year, but it got me thinking... Is the boost adjustable? I've tried searching, and short of an andial build, I haven't seen anything that says this is remotely possible. Thanks in advance for the insight.

Adjustable Boost: Not unless you have a boost controller(manual or Electronic) installed.

SMOG: Doesn't matter since for the smog test your car will never see boost. The tests are performed part throttle 15mph & 25mph...and that's if we had to be on the rollers, which we don't(since we're AWD).
