Oh Ugh. That's just so stupid. I'm very sorry.

Is the other driver well insured? My advice... get the car repaired by the best shop you can find, and do it as quickly as you can so as to relieve the aggravation.

Depending upon your state and the condition of the car, you may be able to get some reimbursement for "diminished value". This is a struggle to prove, but a possibility.

Fix it. Move on.

^^ Yes, but as upset as I'm sure you are over this, think how much more so you'd be if this one one the the real deals! BTW, very interesting rear wing(s). You really should post some better pix here.

sorry bb993tt blackberry cam a guy who raced a 993 gt2 in the french gt chapionship years ago told me that they did some wind tunnel work and it showed that the lower (standerd) wing created a low presure area just under it which keeps the air flow over the rear screen attached and into the intercooler but rules wouldnt allow them to run two wings maybe bs but i think it looks cool fills the gap between the banana and the deck lid

Hmmm ... interesting. Does your skepticism arise from the fact that this claim was never documented somewhere?

no not at all would be very rare for any private team to invest big money and then share the results and set up info, but he told me that they conducted the test at the now defuct prost f1 wind tunnel and i dont think prost f1 had a full size wind tunnel even a well funded gt team would have to think long and hard about making a 1/4 scale model of a production car but i could be wrong the guy knew about 933,and seemed to know what he was talking about

Thanks Ian, this is good stuff. I guess one could always run a car back to back (with and without the lower wing), datalog the IAT's and determine if there was an appreciable difference? Any info given regarding downforce with both wings in place?

back to back test might be worth while if only to confirm my ability to absorb bs
as to downforce i can feel no diff but with the banana on its most aggresive setting anything over 100 mph and it will understeer , the front splitter sorted the understeer out but the drag from the banana is very noticable on that setting......maby why they were only fitted to 600hp cars

I would be a maniac. Sold my old 996 cab that I had fro eleven years to my brother in law - when he was getting it serviced, the dealer ran the thing into a hoist ...drove me CRAZY - it wasn't even my car then!

It will be repaired good as new - you'll forget about it and it will be equally beautiful...heck get some other body work touched up while it is in the body shop - will look even prettier when it comes out.

Yep, sounds like the old "horses for courses" argument.

ouch. It's a bummer when this type of thing happens.
Will that be repaired, get a new door skin, or a new door?
At least you know who did it. I got into my car 3 months ago and saw a big dent in the rear gaurd from some dick in a 4WD.
Just such a hassle, but you'll be sorted in no time.

Wow....sorry to see it bro.

Happened to me a couple of times....not on the side though.

Once, at a red light, a hundred year old lady must have let her foot slip off the brake on her 87 Cutlass Ciera and tapped me from behind.

Got out and nearly went beserk until I saw her and the fact that the US spec bumper came in handy.

Another time, in NYC, a guy tagged me pretty good, again on the rear, while going at a pretty good clip. Luckily I was coasting in neutral at the time so most of the impact energy just served to push me forward. Still had to get a new bumper cover and paint.

I was totally bummed but I got over it and still love my car. You will too.
