Default Tech Art Sport exhaust

Anyone here running Tech-Art mufflers on there 3TT?

My car has Tech-Art 100 cell cats and modified stock mufflers which are very loud. I'm looking for something a little more than stock, but still limit the noise complaints to say a three block radius rather than five.

Are the Tech-Art sports an alternative?

you have RSR's don't you? likely most of your noise is from the 100 cell cats. I have RSR's with stock cats and the noise level is fairly mild - if anything, I'd like to go just a bit louder. I also have my stock mufflers and you're welcome to borrow those to see what results. Changing them is easy. Going to be down in the Cities soon?

Doug, yes, RSR's.

The irony of this is that I just left the cities about two hours ago. In fact I'm still driving home as I type. lol I would have been able to hear and compare your car. Oh well. I might look you up next time through.

Perhaps stock mufflers with 100 cell would be a nice combination. Hmmm...

I have the Techarts with stock cats and think the sound is perfect. I'm thinking the Andial 3.8 with RS cams might add whatever growl the stock cats muffle.

Hi Steve:

I have Techart sport mufflers on my P93T. With the Techart mufflers, I had stock and currently 100 cells sport cats and the sport cats are only slightly louder. Back awhile ago I had reworked stock mufflers with stock cats and it was too loud for me.

There is a way to tell if you can get two sets side by side, the earlier version is lighter (quieter) and the later version.

I had the TechArt sport mufflers on my car with stock cats and it was a nice sounds but a little quiet for me so I put on Fabspeed muffler bypasses. I would imagine sport cats with the TechArt mufflers would be a perfect combination. Less restriction in the cat and better flow in the muffler than stock...louder than stock but not too much.

Hi 911/Q45,
I'm considering to replace my stock mufflers for Techart mufflers (I'm keeping stock cats). I've been searching online for opinions or videos comparing stock muffler sound versus Techart sound on a 993 Turbo but couldn't find any. My question: is there a noticeable difference in sound with Techart mufflers versus stock mufflers? I'm not looking for something to wake up my tenth neighbours but want a more noticeable and aggressive sound than with stock mufflers. Thank you for letting me know!

Francis, Don (911/Q45) doesn't spend much time here anymore. His car is long gone. Switched hands and had a mishap. I have his old Andial engine (and one of his techart mufflers that survived stashed somewhere). Can't really help with your question though..

I kept the stock cats and went with FVD "sport" mufflers made by Danske, the OEM porsche supplier. Couldn't be happier with the new raspy sound but quiet inside with no drone.
