Looks amazing. How long does it last? How do you keep it from getting torn due to stone chips?

996 - VERY nicely done!

I'm also a lover of RB, but I have to say that first picture of your car in it's original Polar hue is hard to surpass... Either way - its a win!

Enjoy!

The only visible seams on my car is under A pillar which is just about 1.5" on each side. Rocker can be warp and I think it look better on yours with Aero kit. My installer told me Avery vinyl should last minimum 5 years if park the car outdoor all over the years. I drove about the same mileage as yours that should give it 10+ years of life.
Thanks for the advice. I view this as a good way to protect the original Guards Red paint. I plan on keeping this girl for the long term now that I can have her in my dream color. I think this is the best compromise to building a time machine to order my dream car.

Cheers,

John

The wrap is installed to perfection. The nice thing is that a full body clear bra to protect your factory paint is around $2k (side job price) so this is a pretty good deal since you get that same protection with the added benefit of having a complete color change without the imperfections of a repaint.

What color is the car in your avatar? I think I was on the edge of buying your SY 996 turbo?

The vinyl flexible and should be hold up better than paint. It can be replace if needed. For rear stone guard area, I've add an extra layer of blue vinyl on top and trace with OEM stone guard. So I can be replace easily.

Thanks! I love my Polar silver, but nothing beat Riviera Blue 993 in my book!

This is the main reason I choice warp over paint. Since my paint are still in pretty good shape, this RB vinyl act like a protector and can be reverse whenever I need.

I wasn't sure if you were asking me since my previous car was a hardtop SY 996TT. My current avatar is "Bugatti Strong Blue" PTS.

Got confused with all the postings, but I remembered your tag. Your SY 996TT was a beautiful machine. I finally finished my barn (garage) project and picked up a GR 993TT.

Now trying to figure out how to make my own RB tribute

Cheers,

John

Default Riv Blue

I went a different way to get to Riv Blue. I had the car professionally painted. They removed every piece of the car except the motor. The rugs, windows, doors, hood, tail area, all of it. They shot under the hood with the special Stage 1 which is factory. Sent it to the paint shop in June of 2011 and got it back November 2011. Car has around 32000 miles….MAM
