To Clearbra or Not?
Well, I went and checked out my car while it was in for the scratch work ala tire shrapnel, and here's what's going on:
1) Weld/repair the door hinges ... didn't want to spend the money on this, but do it while it's there
2) Remove the hardback seats to paint Guards Red
3) Hood off, Front bumper off to be prepped for paint
4) Removed all of the clear bra...which makes me start to think about whether I'd like to put it all back on. When they took it off, they took the paint with it in parts. If it's gonna pull the paint off, that kinda defeats the purpose, no? If it won't come off so you can replace it easily, it makes no sense to have it.
What's the general thought around it? It's a love/hate thing?

I agree; I can't imagine not putting a clear bra on the TT. That said, I have learned that (i) the seams are less visible on some color cars than others; and (ii) it important to get someone who really knows what they are doing to put it on.

Scott-- I recently went with clearbra, so that 'splains my view.
Important: to prevent paint damage, I've heard recommendations to wait up to 30 days after fresh paint.
PS From what I recall, I really dig your 993 & its interior, but my memory may be fading . So, I'll use this as an excuse to request more photos, or a link to a recent picture post of yours!

Definitely wait atfer paint to install and looks much better if you go all the way up the hood and fenders as the edges show after some time and look a little distracting in the middle of the hood ,i had this on my 993tt and now on y 997tt & it just does a great job of deflectling the rocks .

Get a custom clear bra that is wrapped around the edges of the body panels and thus there are no "seams." I would do front bumper, full fenders, and full hood. No reason not to - just make sure you find the right installer. Your body shop isn't necessarily the best place to have it done.

Who are you saving it for?
If you don't mind having clear plastic over your paint, then go for it, but most people prefer pure paint.
If it gets chipped up, repaint it.
