96PorscheTwinTurbo, there is an active Rennlist member here that is also a Tire Rack salesperson. I think his name is Damon. Do a search, or post a new thread.
He can't give you a Rennlist discount, but he can give you great customer service. I recently purchased a set of PS2's from him.

I'll do some research on all of the tires that all of you mentioned. Anyone have a name for the RL member who is a salesman at TR? Thanks again. This is a huge help.

Just another option, since you drive very little and probably not in heavy rain, consider an R compound tire. Much stickier for better handling and never any tire squeal to attract attention. I like the Toyo R888.

I believe the Michelin Pilot Sport Rib were also OEM tires for our cars; I've had them for 3 years and have been very impressed (had S02's on another car and they were excellent as well).
The Michelin PS2 is probably the best contemporary tire available as OEM from Porsche; I've had them on several cars and have been very happy with them.
Can I really tell the difference between any of them? No.

i tried the new sumitomo tires and found them to be better than the S02 I had been using.
Plus, they are almost 'free' compared to other brands.
I ordered them from TireRack.

I also am using the Sumitomo III's on my 2006 Boxster S which I've also driven hard on the track and they are excellent! Almost as good as PS2's for about half the price...

Thanks to all of you for providing input. I was not aware of Tire Rack but researched on their site and finally decided to go with the Bridgestone S02's. Ordered them up a few days ago and they just arrived. Never realized just how valuable this site would be!!
