There must be some out there. A sunroof delete option has been available from Porsche for several years.

Yes, there was a sunroof delete option for the 993TT. That said, I have only ever encountered a single 993TT without sunroof, and that was a 98 993TT-S with some other unique "features" (e.g., rear seat delete) and a collector-level asking price. Is your concern headroom, rigidity, both, or something else?

Yes, some friends have a 96/97 993tt that was specifically ordered w. no sunroof. More headroom for a helmet during DEs. The car has 50k miles, estimated 10k of that are track miles! :-)

My black '96 993tt does not have a sunroof! I believe it is the only 993tt without one here in Taiwan.

Thanks guys. I'm keeping my eyes open for a 993TT without a sunroof because I want to use it for track events extensively. There fore, the car doesnt have to be in mint condition. As long as it isreliable, mechanicaly perfect and has never been in an accident, it would be fine.

I too prefer a "delete sunroof option" but could not find one. My reasons for not wanting a sunroof were not so much track as because I was not going to use a sunroof. I saw several 993 cars, mostly normally aspirated ones but also an occasional turbo but all of them were optioned with atleast sunroof. I think if you were looking for a normally aspirated car, it may not be that difficult but for turbos I think it was a standard no cost option and so few bothered to delete it (someone correct me if I am wrong on this). Thus I gave up on finding a non-sunroof car as a reasonable requirement since I would end up compromising too much other stuff.

OF COURSE, ABSOLUTELY NO harm looking for one but if you find a nice TT with sunroof, optioned well in other respects, perhaps you should consider it or perhaps find out as to how significant the compromise is for track purposes due to sunroof.

Anyway, best of luck. If you do find one, it will be a unique car.
