Joseph,

Yes, the software I used said 'P0430' It is a 3rd party OBDII software. Did you find the same code on your repair manual? Or was it a generic code that didn't apply to my 993tt?
Thanks.

Rick, yes, the cats were hot when I did the scanning.

Robin, my scan tool software doesn't say specifically from which sensor the error message come. Any abnormal value of sensor readings I could look at to find this out? Some readings:
Bank2 Sensor1 0.075 to 0.775 Avg 0.327
Bank2 Sensor2 0.105 to 0.765 Avg 0.498

Many thanks again! You guys are super!!</STRONG>
Jimmy,

You can download the OBD2 software that I use and my actural scan data and check out the O2 sensor reading from my car and compare it with yours.

You can download the viewer software from here http://www.obd-2.com/ve101s.zip

And you can download the data recording from my car from here http://p-car.com/obd-2/data/

You dont need any mufflers on a 993Twin Turbo...just Fabspeed GT2 style muffler bypass pipes. These are 100% the most efficient and lightest final exhaust system for the 993 TT. Sold worldwide and recently used by Jeff ZWart in his Pikes Peak 2001 993TT S . Great sportscar sound and power and 45lbs weight savings off the rear off the car. Price $500. In 2000 Jeff drove a 996 turbo at pikes peak in 12.37minutes. In 2001 Jeff drove a 1996 993 turbo in 12.22 minutes. No Muffler just straight pipes after the cats.

I tried a set of those Fabspeed muffler bye pass pipes (basically they are just bent pipes which bolt off your cat and curl round to exit at your fender outlet). I was running 100 cell cats and found the noise was far too loud - it sounded like a big inboard V8 power boat at idle and was ridiculously loud on boost. I don't doubt that it saves weight and gives minimal back pressure though.

goto my website and click on the 993TT exhaust systems for pictures. On 993TTs with 100 cell racecats USED in conjunction with Fabspeed 993TT muffler bypass pipes.....the car will yes be quite loud. On a 993TT with stock catalytic converters......the GT2 style bypass pipes make the 993TT sound like a Chris Craft boat at idle on Lake Tahoe and then the xhaust gets quiter when you drive the car as the Turbos start to spin and act as rotary mufflers. The car at regular speeds is throaty and mild unless youre a real puss. Sold 100s & 100s of these systems worldwide. Saves 35lbs and costs under $550 complete.web page Fabspeed Motorsport performance for the next millenium

NO! BUT!

I have installed Fabspeeds and love 'em.

So does the manufacturer.

I would go with these way over anything else, although Robin's are supposedly nice too.
