This thread is hysterical. The hell of it is now I really want the ceramic coating, even though I think it's mostly just witchcraft. I might have Darin go ahead and coat them just so I can put them on on my bar for a couple days and drink with them. It's going to keep my car on jack stands for at least another week though.

I've had stage III's on my cab for over 5 years now and find them absolutely perfect. I have never found them too loud with the top down which is 99.9% of the time. Never a dirty look from anyone as I drive by.... even with my foot in it a little bit. Frankly, I get drowned out by any Harley moving or standing still at a light. I did not opt for the coatings and left the heat shields on with no issues.

+III for IIIs

They sound magnificent when angry but are still mellow enough that when I start her up at oh-dark to go to an event, my neighbors have no grounds to complain even though my garage door opens towards their bedroom windows. I cant say the same for most of my motorcycles.

I got them coated and dropped the shields as well, maybe not necessary but appears to work just fine.

Did coating on my stage IIs and never looked back.

If your mufflers are in good nick (e.g. low mile, no salt climate) and you can afford to wait - get your actual car's muffler's back. Otherwise it is through the exchange program (i.e. you get another donor's modified exhaust and ship yours back in the box the Fisters came in).

That's why she is your girl friend.

If she was your wife she would have hit you over the head with them and told you to get them out of her F@**Kin house.

I cant remember back that far anymore when I had girls friends..man what good times they were.

Sorry, should have written "fiancee". She is super-cool and has a great sense of humor. She totally understands the car obsession and "gave" the garage to me even though we had originally talked about having her park on one side while I stacked two cars on a four post lift on the other side.

Four-post lifts are sooo dated:

the 3's were too loud / attention grabbing for my tastes

That's what I will do if I find the 3's to loud.
